Packing. Revolutionised. |
Hello world and welcome to my NYC Journey blog! We have moved from my home in Australia to New York nearly 2 months ago. It was difficult, not just because of all the preparation, but because of leaving behind everything you know and leaving your familiar neighbourhood and your best buddies behind. It was exiting at first, imagining all the fun and new things I could do there before I realised all the negatives. I had to leave my friends behind, leave my house behind, leave all my familiar neighbourhood behind, and all just to move house. I went with my 2 brothers, my mum and my carer, Victoria (but I call her Vicki). My dad had to stay to keep the business going for a few months, so that was sad. Before we moved we sold our house, which took a lot of effort, and we said goodbye to all of my friends and teachers. A good thing about that is I would never have to do school again and (no offence Ms. Jackson) listen to my science teacher droning off about moon cycles. Huzzah!
When we arrived at the JFK airport, we got in a cab and talked to each other and ate sweets (because that is what children do) to stay awake. When we arrived at our new home, we found out it was right next to Central Park, which was convenient. Then we went inside our new home...
