I am mainly focusing on the snare drum and the marimba. The marimba is similar to a xylophone, but it has sharps and flats and uses tubes to produce the sound. I am learning how to do scales using sharps and flats and hopefully chords. On the snare i am learning how to sustain a beat and hold the drum-sticks correctly (which is harder than it sounds!). I have had experience with the majority of the instruments above at my old school SCEGGS Darlinghurst, where they had a vast supply of of a whole heap of instruments, not just percussion.
